Why watch A Little Life?

  • A Little Life play London tickets are your way to experience a unique in-depth character study that goes beyond a play.
  • The drama centers on the life of the main character, Jude St. Francis, whose experience of childhood abuse and subsequent self-harm lay bare dark facets of the society we live in.
  • Ivo van Hove, a visionary director known for his work in Network and A View From The Bridge, helms the English-language debut of A Little Life, an adaptation of Hanya Yanagihara's best-selling novel of the same name.
  • The play, despite its dark undertones, presents a refreshingly contemporary perspective on friendship and human relationships in the era of stress and disillusionment.

Under the direction of Ivo van Hove, the best-selling novel by Hanya Yanagihara comes to life on stage. The play deals with dark themes including trauma, chronic pain, disability, self-harm, suicide, and abuse in different forms. At the same time, it speaks about hope, the happiness of having a home, relationships, friendship, recovery, survival and support. Painful yet provocative, this adaptation will have you revisiting it long after it’s over.

It is a perfect chronicle of a 21st-century lifestyle. It addresses victimization and self-loathing uniquely. Jude's confrontation with his ghosts from the past, which includes abandonment and abuse, is the main conflict in A Little Life. With your A Little Life play London tickets, get a glimpse into the aftermath of experiencing child abuse, horrifying physical violence, and suicide. Its commentary provides you with a unique perspective and encourages you to deal with these issues sensitively.

Savoy Theatre

The Savoy Theatre London made history by being the world's first public building to be entirely illuminated by electricity. The purpose-built theatre opened its doors on October 10, 1881, as The Savoy, showcasing Gilbert and Sullivan's Patience or Bunthorne's Bride. The theatre was specifically designed to showcase Gilbert & Sullivan comic operas, which subsequently became known as the Savoy Operas, built by Richard D'Oyly Carte. Over time, the theatre has undergone various renovations. In the late 20th century, a proposal to construct a new theatre was suggested. However, it was overruled, and the decision was made to restore the building as faithfully as possible to its original 1929 design.
