Amy Heckerling, the visionary behind the original movie, returns to pen the book, bringing the same sharp wit and warm heart to the stage. KT Tunstall, known for hits like "Suddenly I See," composes an original score with quips from the cult classic and the energy of a 90s concert. The stage adaptation promises to delve deeper into the minutiae of friendship groups, class structure, and social mores, while still delivering the fun and fashion that made the film a classic. With lyrics from West End veteran Glenn Slater and direction by Rachel Kavanaugh, who brings her expertise with teen comedies, the all-star production has everything to make you fall majorly, totally in love!
Storyline
Beverly Hills High’s self-attested queen bee, Cher Horowitz, knows what it's like to have people be jealous of her. She's got it all - the looks, the clothes, and a heart of gold. And when new girl Tai stumbles into her world, Cher gets a brand new project too: transforming Tai from a clueless newbie to the girl of every man’s dreams. But as Cher plays matchmaker to her latest interest, she starts to realize that maybe she's the one who needs a clue when it comes to matters of the heart. Will she figure out that her perfect match has been right in front of her all along? Find out at West End’s Trafalgar Theatre, starting February 2025.
