Cratchit, a Christmas classic by Charles Dickens, has been reinvented for its live world premiere at London’s Park Theatre. Watch this beloved Christmas story told from Bob Cratchit’s perspective.
This story has been written and directed by Alexander Knott and was originally called December. Last year, it streamed at the Old Red Lion Theatre. Now, this Dickensian classic has been reworked with a few twists along its way! It features Olivier Award-winner John Dagleish as Bob Cratchit and Freya Sharp as Martha Cratchit.
Enjoy this hearty Christmas show during its limited one-month run at Park Theatre.
Cratchit is a twist on the Christmas classic, ‘A Christmas Carol,’ by Charles Dickens. It follows Bob Cratchit, who with his family, visits his employer Ebenezer Scrooge on Christmas Eve. This tale travels through a cold, bitter night in London where Bob Cratchit goes on his own time-bending adventure through the Christmas future, all the while Scrooge is haunted by Christmas past, present, and future.
Filled with twists and suspense, this show is a re-imagined version of A Christmas Carol. After its screening at the Old Red Lion Theatre last year, Cratchit will now have its live premiere at the Park Theatre.
Direction: Alexander Knott
A community theatre, Park Theatre was founded in 2013 by Jez Bond and Melli Bond. It opened after six years of searching for the perfect location in London, finally settling near Finsbury Park Station. Several luminaries such as Ian McKellen, Alan Rickman, along with the press and local residents helped raise funds to convert an old concrete building into this beautifully designed theatre. There are many productions currently running at this theatre, including Abigail’s Party, Cratchit, Five Little Christmas Monkeys, Little Women The Musical, and more.
