Park Theatre is the vision of Artistic Director Jez Bond and Creative Director Melli Marie who managed to raise sufficient funding to transform the concrete building into a thriving new theatre venue, gathering support from the theatre community including stalwarts like Ian McKellen and Alan Rickman, the media, and, most importantly, residents in the area. The structure, constructed by David Hughes Architects for £2.6 million, opened in May 2013 to excellent acclaim from reviewers. It is located near Finsbury Park station, not far from the West End.
