Storyline

The exemplary story of Jamie Campbell gained popularity after the 2011 BBC documentary - Jamie: Drag Queen At 16. Jamie New is just another teenager from Sheffield. However, he doesn’t quite fit in. The musical showcases Jamie, a 16-year-old gay teenager who turns to drag to overcome bullying and embrace his sexuality. Drawing strength from his mother’s unconditional love and his friend’s unadulterated support, he turns his life around and overcomes prejudices to become a sensation. In essence, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie is a modern-day fairytale of how one 16-year old steps out of the darkness, into the spotlight.
