Jasmin Vardimon follows an entirely fresh approach to dance, imagery, and movement in this arresting reimagination of Alice in Wonderland. Following the critically-acclaimed Pinocchio, the award-winning choreographer presents a story of a woman trying to understand her true identity. As she pushes forward, many uncomfortable questions come to the front. Navigating through things that aren't what they seem only makes it more difficult but the search for truth continues. Soak up the rich visuals onstage along with nuanced and explosive performances, and atmospheric energy like no other.
Jasmin Vardimon - ALiCE is based on the classic Lewis Carroll novel Alice in Wonderland and follows a woman on a journey of self-exploration. This Alice, in Vardimon’s reimagined VR dance experience, is on a search for her identity and comes across many situations that don’t seem to belong to reality yet they’re being experienced by her so they must be true. Questions like this one fill her mind as she seeks to push the boundaries of curiosity, eccentricity, and – ultimately – the truth. She meets the Mad Hatter, the Cheshire Cat, the Red Queen, and many other characters from the beloved classic – all of them pointing her in the direction of her story.
