Why watch Stalled?

  • What if the most embarrassing moments of your life is broadcast to strangers? Stalled the Musical shows that what happens in the toilet, is not the most private. Lauren Ward (Stranger Things, The First Shadow, Dear Evan Hansen), a nominee for the Olivier, Tony, and Drama Desk Awards, conducts the cast in the World Premiere of STALLED, a new musical that explores the themes of mothers, daughters, and the process of transition.
  • Stalled the Musical elevates the drama, hilarity, and pandemonium of being confined to a restroom to new theatrical heights. Who knew that a sealed stall could serve as the incubator for indelible friendships, outrageous confessions, and epic singalongs?
  • Stalled captures the humor of human interaction when life forces you into close quarters, from unexpected moments of solidarity to uncomfortable encounters. The ensemble's chemistry will leave you in hysterics as they navigate the pandemonium.
  • The soundtrack is as eccentric as the narrative, and it is replete with earworms that will linger in your head for days after the show. Consider power duets that discuss plumbing issues and harmonies regarding hand dryers.

Stalled the Musical is a stage production that is both innovative and hilarious, and it is set in the most unlikely of locations—a public lavatory. This unconventional, high-energy production is a unique presence in the London theater scene, as it seamlessly integrates indelible musical performances, endearing moments, and literal toilet humor.

Storyline

Meet an exhausted mother, a neurodivergent daughter, a combative 16-year-old poet, and a horrified queer computer scientist in a posh Seattle ladies' room. Together, they are navigating the ups and downs of modern life with heart and fortitude.Stalled is a theatrical production that explores the multifaceted character of women's lives through the use of music, spoken word, and projections. In the executive ladies' room of a high-end building in Seattle, four distinct women intersect in minor ways as we discover the secrets they are each concealing. They are all stranded and in quest of a path forward. As the narrative progresses, certain women establish a direct connection with one another, while others do so symbolically. They recognize each other's inherent qualities and muster the fortitude to disclose their own truths regarding maternity, addiction, love, grief, and identity.
