Composer and lyricist Rob Rokicki (The Real Gemma Jordan) and book adaptor Joe Tracz (Be More Chill) are among the outstanding creative team members of the musical. In her directorial debut, Lizzi Gee (Groundhog Day) is both the director and choreographer. The musical first debuted Off-Broadway in 2014, then in 2017, a revised and updated version debuted. The musical received three Drama Desk Award nominations in 2017, one of which was for Outstanding Musical, and a Lucille Lortel Award nomination for Outstanding Musical in 2015.
