Eddie Redmayne reprises role as Emcee in Cabaret's Broadway production

Oscar and Tony-winning actor Eddie Redmayne will reprise his role as the Emcee in the Broadway revival of Cabaret. The 41-year-old actor previously dazzled audiences during a West End revival of the popular musical in London from 2021 to 2022.

Redmayne will share the stage with the talented Gayle Rankin, who will take on the role of Sally Bowles. Director Rebecca Frecknall, the creative force behind the successful West End production, will helm the production.

Previews for the Cabaret revival will kick off at the August Wilson Theatre on 1st April, with the official opening night set for 21st April. The musical features a book by Joe Masteroff and music and lyrics by John Kander and Fred Ebb.

Based on Christopher Isherwood's 1939 novel Goodbye to Berlin, Cabaret takes audiences through the Weimar Republic era. Set against the tumultuous backdrop of early 1930s Berlin, Cabaret tells the story of American writer Cliff Bradshaw and English cabaret singer Sally Bowles, whose lives are intertwined in the bohemian atmosphere of the Kit Kat Club. However, the looming threat of Nazism casts a shadow over their hedonistic haven.
