Prepare to be fascinated by Sir Elton John's musical adaptation of the renowned cult classic The Devil Wears Prada. The musical will premiere at the Dominion Theatre in October 2024.

Lauren Weisberger allegedly wrote The Devil Wears Prada in 2003 based on her experiences working as Anna Wintour's personal assistant. It became a cinematic hit in 2006. Starring Meryl Streep as Miranda Priestly, a powerful fashion editor, and Anne Hathaway as Andy, an unknowing PA attracted by Miranda's magazine's charm, the film resounded with many. Even after a decade, The Devil Wears Prada continues to be a part of pop culture.

Meet the Dream Team Behind the Curtain

One of the most enthralling aspects of this adaption is the star-studded team that brings it to life. Sir Elton John, the legendary British singer-songwriter, has composed a seductive musical score fitting for the drama and charm of The Devil Wears Prada. With a repertoire of timeless tunes, Elton John is enough reason to mark your calendars.

Jerry Mitchell, a two-time Tony Award winner known for his work on successful musicals like Legally Blonde and Kinky Boots, is steering the direction and choreography.

The Devil Wears Prada provided a fascinating glimpse into the inner workings of the fashion world. Hence, the stage adaptation must live up to the Academy Award-winning set and costume design standards of the 2006 film.

Bringing an ever-changing backdrop seamlessly transitioning between New York City's bustling streets and Runway magazine's chic offices is no easy task. But the stage adaptation leaves no stone unturned with Tim Hatley, a four-time Olivier and Tony Award winner best known for his work on Life of Pi and Back to the Future, in charge of set design.

Gregg Barnes, a three-time Olivier Award winner best known for his work on Some Like It Hot and Legally Blonde, will add the splendour of fashion to the musical.

This musical incorporates new aspects and interpretations while keeping true to the original story's spirit. The musical will first appear on the stage of the Theatre Royal Plymouth on July 9, 2024, followed by its much anticipated West End season at the Dominion Theatre on October 24, 2024.
