Oliver! is the jewel in the crown of British musicals, following a plucky young orphan as he dodges deception, abduction, and mistreatment in his quest for a better life—and a new gang of friends. With Dickens' classic tale as its backbone, this toe-tapping adaptation boasts iconic songs like ‘Consider Yourself,’ ‘Food Glorious Food,’ and the tear-jerking ‘As Long As He Needs Me.’ Originally hitting Broadway in 1963, Oliver! won three Tony Awards and ran for an impressive 774 performances. This West End revival stars Simon Lipkin as Fagin, Shanay Holmes as Nancy, and Billy Jenkins as the cheeky Artful Dodger. The show’s no stranger to success, bagging eight Olivier nominations and even earning a spot on a Royal Mail stamp. Catch this limited-run classic at the Gielgud Theatre—it’s a pick you won’t want to pocket!
Born into a life of poverty and misfortune, Oliver Twist makes a daring escape from the dreary workhouse and plunges into the bustling streets of London. There, he meets a vibrant array of characters, from the crafty Artful Dodger to the sinister Fagin, the compassionate Nancy, and the intimidating Bill Sikes. As Oliver navigates this perilous world of danger and deception, he’s on a heartfelt quest for love, family, and a true home.

Nestled on London’s illustrious Shaftesbury Avenue, the Gielgud Theatre first graced the stage in December 1906, originally going by the rather unassuming name of the Hicks Theatre. This architectural gem, designed by the same genius behind the Wyndham Theatre, boasts a fabulous Louis XVI-themed decor that’s fit for royalty—if only the walls could talk! Now owned by Delfont Macintosh Theatres, the Gielgud is famous for hosting shorter performances, proving that good things really do come in petite packages.

Our first time at a London theater. We love everything about stage productions. This was amazing for us. A truly enjoyable experience. We felt the actors were enjoying it as well. That makes it double the fun. We obeyed and didn't take any pictures of the production.
Oliver is a childhood favourite of mine. I loved this performance because it kept true to the original but better. It was such a polished performance; the whole cast were full of energ, depth and talent. It was gripping, witty and so enjoyable!
