Storyline
In this rendition of Brecht's drama, Steve Waters moves the action from feuding Soviet communes to a contemporary refugee camp, where a brawl breaks out over a land dispute. A singer attempts to end the tension by reciting the story of The Caucasian Chalk Circle in an effort to find a solution. A young woman risks everything during a brutal revolution to care for the Governor's abandoned son. Years later, the governor's wife comes back in search of her kid. A rogue judge steps in, though, and designs a test. Can the Chalk Circle test, however, actually determine the boy's real mother? What happens next?
