The script of The Commitments has been penned by the author of the book of the same name. This production has been directed by Andrew Linnie, with movement director Denise Ranger. Rory Madden is the sound designer, and Jason Taylor is in charge of the lighting. The set has been designed by Tim Blazdell, with Alice Lessing in charge as the costume designer and supervisor. The musical arrangement and supervision are looked after by Alan Williams. The Commitments musical tickets are available now. Storyline
When Jimmy Rabbitte decides to follow his dream and form Dublin’s finest soul band, he puts together a dysfunctional group of inexperienced musicians. After the tedious procedure of putting out classified ads and auditioning several wannabes, he settles on the lineup that he decides to call The Commitments. Setting out on their musical journey, the band faces numerous hurdles and amidst comical events, the members try to get along and perform in harmony to make a name for themselves. But just as they begin to garner some fame, tensions start flaring up. Catch the musical to find out if they can stick by through tumultuous times or if they fall as soon as they rise to fame.
