The Glass Menagerie is a powerful memory play about a family and the play is recounted through the eyes of Tom, the protagonist, as he takes a trip down the memory lane one fine day. He recounts the olden days when he lived with his family and sheds light on his mother’s determination to give her children what she never had while trampling on their dreams and ambitions at the same time.
Due to their mother’s determination, Tom feels trapped while Laura cripples under the weight of the expectations. Watch the tragic story of the Wingfield family unfold on stage as ambitions, dreams, and relationships come crashing down.
Located in the City of Westminster in St. Martin’s Lane, the Duke of York's Theatre is a popular West End theatre in London. The theatre opened in 1892 and was built for Frank Wyatt and his wife. One of the first musical comedies to show at this theatre was Go Bang and has been home to many debuts including Peter Pan and The Boy Who Wouldn’t Grow Up.
