Lyric Theatre
is perhaps one of the oldest West End theatres, located on Shaftesbury Avenue in the City of Westminster. The theatre opened its doors on December 17th, 1888 and originally specialized in musical productions. Designed by the renowned architect C.J. Phipps for producer Henry Leslie, it has a seating capacity of 915. The light opera Dorothy, whose profits were used to build this theatre, was relocated from its previous site to inaugurate it.
